SUMMARY
Plant: Small, up to 35 mm high terrestrial.
Tuber: ellipsoid or globose, 3 - 5 mm across.
Stem: up to 25 mm long, 2-ribbed, glabrous.
Cataphyll: tubular, up to 7 mm long, caudate, 1-nerved. glabrous.
Leaves: light green, cordate or suborbicular, 7 - 27 mm long, acute or very shortly acuminate, base cordate, truncate at very base, midrib subimpressed above, crested below, basal nerves 2 on either side of midrib, only the inner one reaching apical part of limb, outer much shorter, venation transverse, widely reticulate between the nerves, transverse between the basal nerves, suprabasal nerves 5 on either side of midrib, margin crinkled-wavy; pellucid lenticels none.Pedicle about 6 mm long, glabrous.
Pedicel: none.
Bract: ovate-linear, 5 - 6 by 1.5 mm, acute, boatshaped at base, 1-nerved, glabrous.
Ovary: slender, cylindric, 5.5 - 7 mm long, 6-ribbed.
Flower: red or very dark red, midlobe of lip white.
Median sepal: obovate, 7 - 16 by 5 - 9 mm, cucullate, rounded at tip and subapiculate, 3-nerved at base, up to 12-nerved on hood and the nerves wavy-crested there, on outside subdensely pilose in basal half only.
Lateral sepals: oblong or linear, slightly widened at base, falcate, 0.8-2 mm long, obtuse, glabrous.
Lateral petals: linear, 1.5 - 3 mm long, obtuse, glabrous.
Lip: tubular in lower 4-6 mm, at tip markedly curved downward and spreading into the 4 - 6 mm wide limb, the latter 3-lobed, lateral lobes rounded and curved outward, median lobe suborbicular, 3-5 mm across, entire lip glabrous except finely pilose on inside mainly along margin.
