SUMMARY
Plant: Small, 3 cm high terrestrial.
Tuber: ellipsoid, 8 mm long.
Stem: 15 mm long.
Cataphyll: narrowly infundibuliform, 4 mm long.
Leaves: cordate, 26 by 21.5 mm, very shortly acuminate, mucronate, cordate at base, cuneate at very base, midrib impressed above, prominent below mainly in basal part, basal nerves 2 on either side of midrib, only inner one reaching apical part of limb, suprabasal nerves 3 - 4 on either side of midrib, connate to inner basal nerve.
Pedicel: 2 mm long.
Bract: lanceolate-triangular at base, subulate-acuminate at tip, 10 mm long, glabrous.
Ovary: narrowly ellipsoid, 5 mm long, slightly curved, 6-grooved, glabrous.
Median sepal: whitish with light purple nerves, spathulate, 28.5 by 10 mm, claw narrow, boatshaped, hood widely obovate, margin entire, 3-nerved at base, 11-nerved on hood and the nerves undulate-crested on hood only.
Lateral sepals: subulate, 3.2 mm long.
Lateral petals: subulate, 5 mm long.
Lip: whitish on outside but purple on inside, the limb on outside purple veined, and on inside with fine nervation, from an erect, tubular, ventrally inflated, basal, 11 by 7 mm large part, constricted and abruptly curved downward and spreading into a rotundate-reniforn limb, 10 by 10 mm large, tip conduplicate, margin minutely crenulate in apical part only, finely warty between throat and tip only
Spurs: conoid.
Capsule: not seen.
Type: Versteeg 1390 (BO).
Distribution: Noord River, south of Geluksheuvel (Versteeg 1390).
