SUMMARY
Plant: Small, 4.5 - 7 cm high terrestrial.
Tuber: globose, 4.5 - 5 mm across.
Stem: 2.5 - 3.8 cm long, glabrous.
Cataphyll: cylindric, 7 - 8 mm long, aristate, glabrous.
Leaves: green above, green below with maroon nerves; ovate-cordate, 9 - 10 by 7-7.5 mm, aristate, base subcordate, 3-nerved at base, suprabasal nerves 5 - 6 on either side of midrib, all nerves not visible above, on underside visible only by the different colour.
Pedicel: unknown
Bract: linear boatshaped, 10 - 11 mm long, subulate in apical part, glabrous.
Ovary: narrowly cylindric, curved, 7 - 8 by 1 - 1.5 mm, 6-grooved, glabrous.
Median sepal: white with a few scattered maroon spots in basal part, gradually shading to dark maroon at tip, boatshaped, spathulate, 22 - 23 by 5 - 6 mm, apical part slightly hooded, tip curved upward, acuminate, 3-nerved at base, 5-nerved in apical part, margin slightly erose in apical part only, glabrous.
Lateral sepals: white in basal part, maroon toward tip, linear, 36 - 38 mm long (assumed reversed)
Lateral petals: white in basal part, maroon toward tip, linear, 12 - 14 mm long (assumed reversed)
Lip: dark maroon except for the basal white part, from a tubular, 6 - 8 mm long basal part, abruptly curved downward and spreading into an orbicular limb, 10 - 12 mm across, tip retuse, 3-nerved at base, 15-nerved near margin, on inside subdensely hispidulous
Spurs: narrowly conoid, 2.5 -3 mm long, obtuse.
Capsule: not seen.
Type: van Royen 21111 (BISH).
