Leaf: pale grayish-green throughout, sessile, broadly cordate with well-developed auricles, c. 11 × 8 mm, glabrous, apiculate; veins weak, reticulate, two lateral veins on either side of midrib, outermost veins extending about halfway to apex before anastomosing with inner lateral veins
Peduncle: pale pink, narrowly cylindrical, 12 mm long
Bract: pink, lanceolate, c. 2 mm long
Ovary: narrowly cylindrical, 4 mm long, ribbed
Flower: solitary, upright. Dorsal sepal, lateral sepals and petals, and outer surface of labellum tube solidly reddish purple, spurs paler red, inner surface of labellum blade dark red, ovary reddish
Dorsal sepal: oblanceolate with a wide base, acute, apiculate, 9 × 2.5 mm, glabrous, midrib slightly crested, other veins weak, 5 veins at base, two of these branching towards apex
Lateral sepals: filiform, c. 12.5 mm long, emerging from behind spurs
Lateral petals: filiform, c. 8 mm long
Labellum: from tubular basal part, curving slightly downwards and opening into a 4 mm wide, reniform blade, c. 7.5 mm long when flattened out, inner surface of blade glabrous, margin denticulate, opening to floral tube widely V-shaped
Spurs: triangular, c. 1.5 mm long
Column: upright, 2 × 1 mm; ventral pad 1 × 1 mm
Capsule: not seen.
Type: Papua New Guinea, Morobe Province, Huon Peninsula, Faseu, December 2011, S.P. Lyon SPL 425 (holotype L).
Distribution: Endemic to New Guinea, presently known from only two locations on the Huon Peninsula of Papua New Guinea (Morobe Province).
Ecology: Terrestrial on mossy slope in montane forest
Elevation: c. 1500–1620 m.
