SUMMARY
Plant: small, 3 cm high terrestrial.
Tuber: ovoid, 10 by 8 mm.
Stem: 15 - 23 mm high, 1-nerved, glabrous.
Cataphyll: funnelshaped, 8 by 3 mm, caudate, glabrous.
Leaves: dark red, cordate, 28 by 14 mm, acuminate, base cordate, midrib somewhat grooved above, prominent below mainly in basal part, basal nerves 3 on either side of midrib, only the inner one reaching apical part of limb, the other two much shorter, looping toward inner nerve, suprabasal nerves 3 - 5 on either side of midrib, connate to inner basal nerve, venation sparse, widely reticulate, margin very slightly wavy; with numerous pellucid lenticels.
Pedicel: 2 mm long, glabrous.
Bract: linear, widened at base, boatshaped, 14 by 2 mm, caudate, glabrous.
Ovary: obliquely claviform, 2 mm long, 6-ribbed, glabrous.
Flower: dark purple.
Median sepal: cucullate-spathulate, 15 by 5 mm, acute, 5-nerved at base, up to 13-nerved on hood, glabrous.
Lateral sepals: linear but obliquely ovate at base, 15 by 1 mm, caudate, glabrous.
Lateral petals: similar to lateral petals and of the same length.
Lip: semi-circular curved, from a tubular base widening out into an ovoid-orbicular limb, 12 by 10 mm large, acute, coarsely fimbriate along apical margin, 7-nerved at base, 22-nerved near margin, glabrous.
Spurs: not known
