SUMMARY
Plant: small, 2 - 7 cm high epiphyte.
Tuber: ovoid, 3 - 10 by 2 - 7 mm.
Stem: 1- 4 cm high, 3-winged, glabrous.
Cataphyll: 8-9 mm long, subcaudate, margin crinkly-wavy, glabrous.
Leaves: broadly cordate to elliptic-cordate, 20 - 55 by 5-36 mm, acute or subcaudate, base cordate, midrib subimpressed above, prominent below mainly in basal part, basal nerves 2 on either side of midrib, only the inner one reaching apical part of limb, suprabasal nerves 3-4, connate to inner basal nerve, margins crinkly-wavy.
Pedicel: 0 - 1.5 mm long, glabrous.
Bract: linear, boatshaped, 15 - 17 mm long, widened at base, acute, glabrous.
Ovary: obliquely ellipsoid-cylindric, 3-sided, 4 - 5 by 1 - 1.2 mm, glabrous.
Flower: white on outside, median sepal pinkish red on inside, lip on inside with carmine red veins.
Median sepal: narrowly spathulate from a linear, basal part, 15 - 22 by 8 - 12 mm, rounded and only slightly hooded in apical part, 3-nerved in basal part, 9-nerved in apical part and the nerves on the hood irregularly crested.
Lateral sepals: linear, 8 - 12 by 0.5 - 0.8 mm, glabrous.
Lateral petals: linear, 8 - 12 by 0.5 - 0.8 mm, glabrous.
Lip: from a tubular, basal, 10 - 13 mm long part abruptly curved and spreading into a suborbicular limb, 10 - 13 mm across, base ventrally inflated, margin of lip finely denticulate, 3-nerved at base, 15-nerved near margin
Spurs: conoid, 1.5 mm long.
Capsule: not seen.
Type: lectotype: Schlechter 18591 (AMES).
Distribution: Kani Mountains (Schlechter 16848); Ibo Mountains (Schlechter 17101, 18991).
Ecology: In moss cushions on trees is lowland rainforest
Elevation: 1000 - 1100 m
