SUMMARY
Plant: Small, 1 - 2.5(- 5) cm high terrestrial.
Tuber: subglobose- ovoid, 4 by 4 mm.
Stem: wine red or red, 4 - 8(- 40) mm long, 3-sided, glabrous.
Cataphyll: tubular, 3 - 4.5 mm long, subcaudate-acuminate, glabrous.
Leaves: dark olive green above with white nerves, underside dark purplish green and only white on midrib; broadly ovate, 8- 15 by 6- 14 mm, apiculate, cordate at base, midrib impressed above, prominent below mainly in basal part, basal nerves 2 on either side of midrib, inner one almost reaching tip of limb, outer one up to 3/4 of total length of limb, suprabasal nerves 4 - 6 on either side of midrib, connate with each other and with inner basal nerve; scattered pellucid lenticellate.
Pedicel: 1 - 1.5 mm long, glabrous.
Bract: wine red, linear, boatshaped and widened at base, 10 mm long, acute, glabrous.
Ovary: blackish red, obliquely curved cylindric, 3.5 - 5 mm long, 6-grooved, glabrous.
Median sepal: blackish red at base, gradually changing to clear wine red in higher parts but hood white, curved, spathulate, from a narrowly cuneate, boatshaped, 15 mm long claw gradually widening into a hoodshaped, 8 - 10 by 7 - 10 mm large apical part, shortly apiculate, 3-nerved at base, 9-nerved on hood, midrib crested along entire length, glabrous.
Lateral sepals: wine red, linear, sigmoid, free, sepals 14 - 15 mm long, acute, boatshaped widened at base, glabrous.
Lateral petals: wine red, linear, sigmoid, free, petals 11 - 13 mm long, all acute, boatshaped widened at base, glabrous.
Lip: on outside at base blackish red, gradually becoming clearer wine red towards central part, midrib on outside white with broad wine red nerves, from a basal, 8-10 mm long, tubular part abruptly curving downward and spreading into a broadly reniform-suborbicular limb, 9 - 11 by 12 - 15 mm large, margin coarsely fimbriate-laciniate, in throat with a heart shaped, 5 - 6 by 3 - 4 mm large boss which at base is 2-grooved, inside of limb with a wide belt of white hairs between throat and apical margin, 3-nerved at base, 19-nerved near margin
Spurs: blackish red with white tip, broadly conoid, 2 - 2.5 mm long, obtuse.
Capsule: not seen.
