SUMMARY
Plant: Small, 3 - 6 cm high terrestrial,
Tuber: ovoid, 6 by 4 mm.
Stem: 5 mm high, 3-winged, glabrous.
Cataphyll: tubular, 9-12 mm long. sub-caudate, glabrous.
Leaves: narrowly ovate-cordate, 30 - 32 by 23 - 25 mm, acuminate, base cordate, midrib impressed above, prominent below mainly so towards base, basal nerves on either side of midrib, only the 2 inner ones reaching apical part of limb, outer very short, suprabasal nerves 5 or 6, connate to inner basal nerves, branched or unbranched, venation widely reticulate; relatively densely pellucid lenticellate.
Pedicel: 2 - 3 mm long, glabrous.
Bract: linear but widened at base, boatshaped, 14 mm long, subulate-acute, glabrous.
Ovary: not known
Flower: dark violet.
Median sepal: strongly curved, from a boatshaped, oblong base gradually widening to the spathulate, 10 by 10 large hood, rounded and finely apiculate, 3-nerved in basal part, 14-nerved on hood, glabrous.
Lateral sepals: linear, widened and boatshaped at base, glabrous, sepals 30 mm long.
Lateral petals: linear, widened and boatshaped at base, glabrous, petals 22 mm long.
Lip: from a tubular, basal, 8 mm long part abruptly curved downward and spreading, orbicular limb, 8 by 8 mm large, obtuse, margin coarsely fimbriate, 3- nerved at base, 23-nerved near margin, glabrous
Boss: oblong- obovoid, crest-like
Spurs: conoid, 1.5 mm long, obtuse, glabrous.
Capsule: not seen.
Type: van der Sijde BW 5592 (L).
Distribution: Tobi Mts, west of Kebar Valley (van der Sijde BW 5992.).
Ecology: Terrestrial on sandy clay in lowland rainforest
Elevation: 900 m
