SUMMARY
Plant: Small, 7 cm high terrestrial.
Tuber: ellipsoid, 8 by 6 mm.
Stem: 5 cm high, 2-ribbed, glabrous.
Cataphyll: tubular, 8 mm long, caudate, 1-nerved, glabrous.
Leaves: bronze green or velvety green above with pale pink veins, underside reddish, suborbicular-cordate, 20 - 32 by 15 - 26 mm, acuminate, base cordate but cuneate at very base, midrib grooved above, prominent below, basal nerves 2 or 3 on either side of midrib, outermost basal nerve much shorter than inner ones, the latter both reaching tip of limb or almost so, suprabasal nerves 5 or 6 on either side of midrib, connate to inner basal nerve, venation widely reticulate, margin only slightly wavy, finely papillate above and along margin.
Pedicel: 2 mm long, glabrous.
Bract: linear, 12 by 1 mm, acute, glabrous.
Ovary: not known
Flower: red or deep wine red, sides of lip white near basal spurs
Median sepal: widely obovate, cucullate, 22 by 12 mm, obtusely apiculate, 5-nerved at base, many-nerved on hood, glabrous.
Lateral sepals: linear-subulate, 6 by 0.5 mm. (assumed reversed)
Lateral petals: linear-subulate, 5 by 0.5 (assumed reversed)
Lip: from a short, tubular part abruptly curved and widening into a narrow, 2-lobed, 10 by 6 mm large limb, margin slightly dentate in apical part only, 5-nerved at base, many-nerved near margin, glabrous
Spurs: mammilliform, 2 - 2.5 mm long, obtuse.
Capsule: not seen.
Type: Millar NGF 40827 (LAE).
Distribution: Kar Kar island (Millar NGF 40827, Ridsdale NGF 33993).
Ecology: In deep moss in rainforest
Elevation: 670 - 1070 m
